This choice involves accepting the Undying King's request to get the Heart, going to Corsus, killing Ixillis, and bringing it back to him. However, to find this out and locate a path for reaching Corsus altogether, players will need to clear most of Rhom and reach the Undying King behind that wall of fire in the Hall of the Undying. So, “for the sake of his people”, the Undying King (who essentially functioned as the 'Dreamer' for Rhom's Guardian) asks the player to go to Corsus and steal the heart of their Guardian and bring it to Rhom so he can use it to fully revive their Guardian. However, the Guardian of Rhom was either already on the verge of death from the Root or this led to them almost dying, so the Undying King has used alien technology to keep the Guardian barely living ever since. Rhom already went through an entire war with the Root, and their leader, the Undying King, resorted to essentially nuking his entire planet to wipe out all traces of the Root. Players can see the result of the Root invading in Remnant: From the Ashes not only on Earth, but also in the desert realm called Rhom.
